A long time ago, we looked at ArdGate for JDBC access from RPGLE. At the time, we had to disconnect from DB2 in order to access a different database, which was a complete show-stopper. In a couple of weeks, we'll be upgrading to 7.3, and I'm wondering if that obstacle still remains.

there has never been an "obstacle"!

you could have used "set connection" to switch between databases since the very first day of ArdGate and this will be unchanged until the final death of AS400 and DB2 on AS400 (or whatever they call it today and might call it tomorrow).
