Doug, I have used Skott klements's HTTPAPI for many SOAP requests and
currently doing my first REST project.
These are RPG prpgram's running on IBMi accessing remote web services.
See http://www.scottklement.com/oss.html and the HTTP API Download and
presentations on Scott's web site.
Brad Stone also has GETURI but I have not used that yet.
There are lot's of examples for SOAP and not many for REST.
Go through the presentations and I would also read the YAJL presentations
as I am using that more and more every date for create and consume JSON.
Good luck

Subject: REST API call from RPG
Sent by: "RPG400-L" <rpg400-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>
I want to know if there are any examples of an RPG program
contacting an API on another system [non-IBMi] where the RPG program
would be the 'client' asking the other system [the 'target'] for
information using a REST interface with JSON. The only information I
see looks like it is tailored to having [i.e. our] IBM i serving as
the host and have other applications contacting ours for
information, and that seems to require the IBM WebServer wizard to set
questions.
Do I need to use that to have RPG be the client and contact other
companies servers for information or is there a different way when
RPG is just the client and not the target?
Thank you,
Doug
