I am with Alan here:  Knowing what you are seeking to do will help.

1) Consuming a service that delivers JSON to you

2) Producing JSON to be used by an external service called by another server or entity

3) Producing JSON so it can be consumed by a website that you host.

I do all of the above, all day long, so knowing how you plan to generate or consume the JSON (or both) would be helpful.
