Re: open and fill a new ACS window/session from an already open ACS session

It’s really unfortunate the stigma against 5250 sessions. Everyone has their own opinion about it. I actually like it. When it comes to serious data entry, a well-designed 5250 screen smokes their GUI counterpart.

When I go into stores, I’m always pleasantly surprised at how many 5250 screens are still in use as they just work. Look at the terminals at a Costco store. If a big outfit like Costco uses it, must still have value.

I have two customer that was told the same. One in 1998, the other in 2005.

They're still on green screen, and also, people won't move from there.

Both ave tried, an miserably failed.

I agree that you won't be selling 5250 software, but you've an hard time removing from where it is still used.
