Yes. And I had to write a small testing RPGLE program, providing both the

regex string and the searched string, along with the compilation and
execution flags, from the command line and debugging it. There could I
confirm the matching I wanted. In general, shortcuts is what is mostly not
supported, for example the one I exposed earlier like "\d+" for "sequence
of one or more digits". Leads me to think this could have been just a port
of the original open source code. (?)
