I learned git well enough to use it in about 30 minutes. Honestly, it
was really easy.
That said, it does have a lot of advanced/powerful features that are
complex and difficult to learn. In fact, after 8 years, I'm still
learning things. But, just because it has a more advanced side doesn't
mean that you need to know it all up-front. Just learn what you need to
get started, and wait until the more advanced stuff comes up before
devoting energy to it.
