i have been using scott K's hssf poi to process xlsx files. the process reads through the ifs and gets the number of sheets for each file and displays in a subfile. when running the process over 50 or more files, i get outofmemoryerror.

question 1. how do i address this issue?
question 2. when programs bomb, huge files are created. can the dump process be turned off.
