_ROpen is an ILE runtime library routine, callable from any of the ILE languages. Technically, it has nothing to do with "C" per se ...

So there is no reason why you cannot just call it from ILE RPG IV, if that is the behavior you desire?

I can't recall whether there's anything equivalent to this in ILE RPG.
