To recap, if anyone needs this
to enable the hostprn command put PRINT in DDS.
Any API usage can be done maybe via DSM (but sounds overkill, just map the button to the keyboard in case for easy and sporadic access at this point).
There is also a clunky way STRCPYSCN plus copy to splf , can be useful in some cases...

thanks

Hello everyone,
does anyone know or have experience if there is a possibility to obtain the same function of "hostprn" button but calling it programmatically RPG side?
"hostprn" button (you can access it via keyboard or pressing the second mouse button in 5250 ACS using the virtual pad) will produce an as400 spool file with the copy of the screen.I've used it during normal OS/400 use sometimes.
Possible to obtain the same result with an RPG CALL (via some API)?Furthermore, how to declare a DDS to accept "hostprn" in a program explicitely (on demand use via button)?
thx for any insights!
