Subject: Re: Embedded SQL and RPG time out - montioring

Of course Paul - you can control the different timeouts with HTTP options - this is the second parameter of HTTP_GET. ht͏‌͏

You should experiment with

- connectTimeout
- ioTimeout

and set the timeouts to your needs - and then check the SQL code and state.

Is there a way in RPG with SQL to place a timeout on an sql statement.
We are using SQL to interface with Vertex and we hit an issue where the request to vertex never returned with a response. There was no error, the exec sql just sat there:

// Send request & receive response. Move response into responseText
exec sql
values qsys2.HTTP_POST (trim(:url), :requestText)
into :responseText;

Is there a way to force the SQL to error out or time out?
Is there a way to force qsys2.HTTP_POST to timeout?

Thanks for any help.
