Hi Paul,

I do not think there is any country specific parameters for China.
Maybe with all sorts of business going on in China, Infor should look
into this and make a China module as taxes are processed differently.


BIGGEST DIFFERENCE is they have VAT must be included in their prices
rather than added later, but then need to see VAT amount separately on
financial documents.
I heard there was a mod made for another company( in the US) who has a
China office, but we are Canadian tax and have not done the mod yet for
our China office. 

For now our China office is entering the PO with price including VAT to
send a copy to their supplier and then just before receiving, changes
the price to "without VAT".  All suppliers and customers are set up to
charge VAT.
The customer order is entered with price before VAT as the confirmation
is not sent to the customer.
Errors can happen easily.

Then for accounting purposes, the right values can be matched with
supplier invoice and customer payment.

China also has 4 or 5 other taxes that are taken care of by other means
(I think included in price) or charged separately by government.  The
government seems to get all financial info through other specific
paperwork or internet web site, so double work is being done.

You may want to speak to Infor, as there local office has developed some
Spanish specific reports that are needed. We use these.

we are investigating the possibility of setting up new branch offices in
Spain & Portugal. The intention would be to create these each as a
seperate Company within S/21.

I wondered if anyone had any information about specific legal or fiscal
requirements for these 2 countries? I have looked through what
documentation I have, but it doesn't address localisation in much
detail.

I have already seen when setting up a test Company with country Spain,
that it switches on Year-End Journals (documented) and also asks for a
Number Of Journal Books (cannot find any documentation).

Any help appreciated,
