The System 21 DRP software can be made to be very useful. The biggest gripe that I have is that it does not have tools to help minimize system-wide finish goods inventory. When a business has multiple DRP warehouse locations (Centers and DCs), the target inventories are all independent of each other, so if Warehouse A has an excess while Warehouse B is in need of more stock, no suggestions are produced by the software to move inventory from A to B. We had to write an add-on at one of my clients to optimize system-wide inventories.
