I've looked everywhere on the internet but cannot find anything on a
standard for handling database object naming, so I'd thought I'd turn to
the best in the business.

I was hoping you could supply some rules to name database objects taking
into consideration long & short/system (10 characters) names.

The reason is we are planning on moving from the old DDS to DDL SQL
statements saved in source members saved in something like a QSQLSRC
source file.

The following objects are of interest:

* Tables
* Columns
* Indexes
* Views
* Constraints
* Triggers
* SQL Procedures
* SQL Functions

Any recommendations for what to store in & where to store the source
files would also be greatly appreciated.
