I have tried this. I select MS ODBC as the data source, and then the
only option I have for data provider is '.NET Framework Data Provider
for ODBC'.

When I select other as the data source, the data provider option is
blank.

Shouldn't I be seeing the DB2 .NET provider available since I installed
the .NET stuff with iSeries Access?

Connect to Database
Change the datasource to Microsoft ODBC or <Other> and choose OLE DB

From there you should be able to follow the wizards.

OK - I'm pleading ignorant - cuz I am. How do I use ODBC or OLE DB to

I was able to get my system to show up by using Tools-Connect to a
Server and then keying the system name. It shows up, but I can't do
anything with it - I keep getting errors. Shouldn't I be able to
drill
down into my Libraries and Files (or schemas and collections) - like
I'm
able to with iSeries Navigator or WDSC?

You should be able to add it via the "normal" means. Just use ODBC or
OLE
DB. Either should work for at least the basic functions.

Hi all,

Is there a way to make the i5 available to the Server Explorer
inside
Visual Studio?
