Vern,

Unfortunately the Browse function was not included in the WDSc 4.0
workbench. We have heard this requirement from quite a few people and are
considering it a high priority item for our next release.

In V4.0 the workaround is to use the CODE editor to open the file in browse
mode. As you have found out, there is currently no way to launch the CODE
editor from the RSE in browse mode (only edit mode.)

Thanks.

I need to open some source members in browse mode, so as not to lock
members that others are responsible for. I finally found
Window->Preferences, then Workbench->File Editors. But these settings seem
to have no effect on items in RSE perspective, only in Project perspective.

Another matter - when I try to Add... an editor to the Associated editors
list, the list of internal editors does not even inlclude the CODE Editor.
It does include the LPEX Editor. I would like to see both CODE Editor and
CODE Browser added.

I found I was able to add the latter 2 editors with External editors and
browsing (CODEEDIT and CODEBRWS didn't show up as registered file types - I
might have a Windows problem).

Now if only these would work in RSE.

Thanks
