Sadly, no.  I've already done this and selected just the 3 columns I want,
but they still end up squished illegibly over on the left hand side so it
can fit in 3 blank columns on the right.

In 5.1.2 you can click on the down-arrow of the table view, where there is a
Preferences item. You can select the columns to show for objects and for
members. Would this help?
