If the source is open, try clicking on the source. It appears, to me at least, that when the source has lost focus the compile option is not available. This usually happens to me when I click on the save icon as opposed to using <crtl>S, or if I have wandered to some other panel. I have used the button in the past, but I am not sure when it stopped functioning. Does anyone have a clue?
