Hi Vini,

Sounds like a problem connecting to the DDM server on the iSeries. Are
you able to download and save members from the Remote System Explorer
(RSE)? If not then it is most likely a DDM connection problem and not a
problem specific to iSeries projects. The most common DDM problems are:

1. DDM host server is not started (STRTCPSVR *DDM). The Verify
connection action would have told you if it was not started.
2. Your user profile is not authorized to use the DDM server. There is
an authority list that controls this.
3. There is an exit program associated with the DDM server that is
preventing you from reading / writing members.
4. There is a firewall installed on your PC / iSeries / network blocking
the DDM server connection.

Hope this helps.

[WDSCI-L] Getting Started

Hi Mike and all,
I tried this the last week and got the message that PTF SI08018 is
missing. We ordered it from IBM and installed it but my below problem is
still not sorted out. When I do the 'Verify Connection...' now I do not
get
any message on any missing components. Please help.

Thanks,

Vini

Vini,

I would start by checking that your connection is valid and that all
required PTFs have been applied. In the Remote Systems Explorer view
(this should be the pane in the lower left corner), right-click on
'iSeries Objects' under a connection to your iSeries, then select 'Verify
Connection...'. Any missing components or PTFs will be listed. If
everything comes back 'successful', post another message and I'm sure
someone will be able to help you out.

Hi All ,
   I have just started using WDSC V 5.1.2 . I tried starting with a
iSeries
project to create an RPGLE program and then upload it to the server. When
i
try to do this , I get the below error message ,

IPBB3502E - ERROR WRITITNG THE ISERIES MEMBER LIBRARY/SOURCE(MEMBER) ON
DEV01

Similarly when I am trying to GET some of the already existing programs
from the server and include it in my local iseries project , I get an
error
message .....actually the message just says NULL .

Can some one help me please.

Thanks,

Vini
