Hello Colin...

I can recompile the object once deleted but the original issue remains if
the object already exists. A check of the error log after a compile
attempt indicates it is not an authority issue but rather that the object
still exists. The profile being used has *ALLOBJ, *SPLCTL, *JOBCTL - it
shouldn't require the other authority options for a development profile.
If I run a CRTLF command from a green screen command line, I get the same
response - CPF5813 (File xxxx in library xxxx already exists). That's
what makes me wonder whether it's something to do with the new version.
The previous version of websphere seemed to allow me perform a CRTLF and
did not care if it existed. If it found it, it got rid of the original
and recompiled, just as if I were in PDM.

If there a preference option for compile commands operating similar to
PDM, perhaps?

RE: [WDSCI-L] Object/File Replacement after compile

Blake,

Are you sure this is not an authority problem. Try deleting the logical
before you recompile it.

cheers

Subject: [WDSCI-L] Object/File Replacement after compile

Hello all...

When using the WDSC version 5.1.2.4 (build 20050104_2139), has anyone
ever encountered a problem with replacing logical files or program objects

created in DDS or RPG respectively when performing a compile?

I just recently upgraded to v5.1.2.4 and it has suddenly decided not to
allow replacement of logical files that are created using the compile
feature. Previously I was able to do so under v.5.0.1 without any
trouble. The preferences appear to be same including the "Replace Object"

check box value so I'm wondering if this is just the way the new version
runs or if something else is not right.

Have a good day.
