I'd suggest installing the RSE Extensions:

http://support.softlanding.com/opensource/index.html

You can then use the included iSeries Editing perspective for this.  It 
gives you a full-screen editing environment and you can then drag and drop 
the windows to see them side by side.  You can do this yourself without 
installing these extensions, but this makes it easier.
