Rob,

The SQL syntax check is just that -- a *syntax* check.  It verifies that 
the format of the statement is valid.  It doesn't check that your 
field/column names are correct or that the values being entered are 
legitimate.  I think the performance hit would be too large to verify that 
each time we hit enter.

This works the same as editing RPG.  The editor only flags invalid RPG 
syntax.  Not bad variable names, etc.
