If verify connection confirms this, and that no
products are flagged as
missing then it is probably time for a call to IBM
support.

Is your WDSC up to date?  Use rational Updater to
check if you are missing
fixes.

Try disconnecting and closing the workbench and then
re-opening in case any
basic information is cached and causing a problem.

Can you verify?  Does Outline view get populated? 
Try submitting a compile
with prompt and see if there are any odd looking
session parameters.

Can you submit a compile from the command line in
the Command log area
(normally bottom right) ?  

Do other command like ADDLIBLE work ?

Beyond these ideas I'm afraid a call to IBM is the
only way to go.  In the
interim simply save the source from WDSC and go back
to PDM to issue the
compiles.
