It is not an emulator but see in case of web applications, WDSc does 
everything. You can see JSP sources in source mode, design mode, you set 
up a test server and run java programs and see the results in the same 
window.

I don't understand all these complaints about being able to run 
interactive commands? That is not a function of SEU or PDM being lost in 
WDSC, that is a function of being at a command line in a System I screen. 
To do interactive things you need to be on the machine. I keep WDSC and 
several Client access session up all day, ALT-TAB jumps back and forth. If 

I want to run an interactive command, I jump to a session. WDSC is not an 
emulator it is a development environment.
