We have 3 developers here. We'd be very pleased to get a way to do those
fixpack downloads one time. I'm sure the shops with more developers would
be even more interested in simple way to download fixpacks to a local
server and then do multiple fixpack applies.

Re: [WDSCI-L] Additional download capability for WDSC V7

Hi Michael, here is a bit delayed response, I needed to ask around here
if
we planned to support fixpacks in PTFs as well.
At the moment we are looking into it, we can't promise that we will be
able
to provide this, but it is good to know that you folks are interested in
it.

Claus,

Will fix packs also be available via a PTF process? That in combination
with the centralized installation would be fantastic.

Thanks again for all the team at the IBM Canada Lab in Toronto does.

subject: [WDSCI-L] Additional download capability for WDSC V7

Hi folks, we have added the capability for our WDSc V7 entitled customers
to download the V7 image via the entitled software supported website
starting March 16 which is the general availability date for WDSC V7.
The following webpage contains more information about this new option:
http://www-306.ibm.com/software/awdtools/wdt400/about/entitlements.html

So you will have three ways to get WDSC V7:
1. Ordering WDS no-charge supply feature code 2658, this will get you the
physical media
2. Ordering the PTFs, this will download the V7 image onto your System i
(we are in the process of building these PTFs we don't have the numbers
yet, as soon as we get them we will post them)
3 Using the entitled software support (ESS) (one time registration
required for first time users) , this will download the image to a target
directory in your environment

I hope, this additional option addresses some of the concerns you had
with
ordering the new WDSC release.
