I had this same problem where the snippits disappeared.  Never saw them 
again, entered them again, and gone again, never to be seen again.

[WDSCI-L] Snippets disappeared







I did a reset perspective to get my Outline view back.   Then I added back
iSeries Service Entry Points & Snippets.  But the snippets view is empty.
Right clicking on source shows the Add to Snippets option grayed out.

Any suggestions on how to resurrect my snippets?
