This is something that drives me nuts about the RPG LPEX editor. You are
experiencing as-you-type syntax checking. Implementation is everything
here, and if it worked like the Java editor (i.e. simply underline
errorneous syntax and have error tick on right) it would be much less
intrusive.

With a fresh install of WDSC this is one of the first things I turn OFF.

Oftentimes I'll get halfway through typing a line into the editor, such as
CHAIN and then, for various reasons, will have to flip to another PC
session (say to type an email). When I come back to the editor, it
invariably displays "RNF5377E The end of the expression is expected.".


Naturally finishing the line removes the error (usually). Like I said, just
a nuisance and, also, curiosity: Why would the editor think that I had
pressed the Enter key?
