FWIW, I prefer to do all my Java development using a Windows/Unix based
source control tool (like MKS Source) ... then build the deployable
artifacts (jar files) and then deploy them using a System i change
management system (like MKS Implementer).

I use WDSC to edit & test my java code, ant to build it and create the
jar files, then copy them to the IFS and deploy them from there.
