I think you probably have a point, but at the same time, there are times 
when you have a specific workspace that you've configured for a given 
proof of concept or other segregated purpose that you don't necessarily 
have under version control.  In that instance, a shared workspace is 
just the ticket.

Then again, I'm not a big believer in source control systems like CVS in 
a production environment because they aren't really change management 
systems.  Just me.
