When WDSC was released, IBM had not yet perfected bundling separate 
components and so basically WDSC had RDi built on top of the top of the 
line Java EE tool, RWD/RAD.  IBM gave it away to iSeries developers 
(note the terminoology) as part of the bundled price of 5722WDS, but 
that was about to end.

With i 6.1, all components are separately bundled.  With the 
announcement of the new RDi-SOA for Java, there are now four editing 
tool bundles.  You can get:

ADTS - SEU, SDA and PDM
RDi - just the green screen tools
RDi-SOA for EGL - green screen tools and EGL
RDi-SOA for Java - green screen tools and Java EE

Different products with different prices depending on how much 
functionality you want in the bundle.  My only question today is whether 
or not RDi-SOA for Java includes EGL; I don't have the answer for that.  
I think IBM's position is that you don't need both.

If you want cheap web development, use MyEclipse and RDi.

If you want fast web development, use RDi-SOA for EGL.

If you want integrated IBM tooling for full-blown Java EE development, 
use RDi-SOA for Java.

It's your choice.
