Hey Doug,

I currently use 2 19" widescreens side by side where I work. I can tell
you that it is tremendously more efficient. Just the fact that I can have
WDSC up on one screen and have a session up on the other screen for
running code is a huge benefit. I can find problems in my program and
have my code up at the same time. It makes it much nicer. Plus when I do
web development it really helps there as well for many of the same
reasons. Plus in WDSC you can open up a new window and put in n the
screen. I can have 4 different programs, display files, CL's... or
whatever at the same time. You can see every character from side to side
without having to scroll and you can see almost 100 lines at a time. There
are many times that if I'm working on a more complicated project I'll have
8 or 10 code files open. Having the option of putting them into 4
different catagories really helps me to keep myself organized. You can
organize them by DDS/RPG relationship, or DDS in one section, RPG in
another, CL in another, reference code in yet another. With 4 breaks each
with thier own set of tabbed programs it really helps.

Its one of those things that you don't really realize until you do it. And
once you have it you'll never want to go back. Even just having the
ability to have a session on each screen is nice. No more flipping with
Shift+Esc and then entering a 1 to get to your other session. You can
hit an Alt+Tab and be there and still see what was on the other screen.

I'll stop now. Its worth it. Hands down.

Subject
[WDSCI-L] Justify 2nd Display

Group,

We are starting to get a number of people in our department with 2 19"
displays. I was wondering if anyone has successfully justified a second
display via WDSc? I know that extra "real estate" is always appreciated
and productive, but getting that sign off by management is the problem.

Thanks
