That's interesting. Do you mean verify on the menu? Oh no,too late I clicked it and its WAY past tea time in central Europe. Worse still, I haven't saved. I'll try syntax-check tomorrow.

This is driving me nuts.

In LPEX, Alt + L to select a line. But, not seeing that a line was
already selected elsewhere, I have now selected a block of lines. Alt
U to unselect, then. But, fat fingers hit Alt + i. Computer processor
100%. After a cup of tea, no change. Finish my croissant and the lines are now in minor letters.
Processor still at 100%, tea break over so ctrl alt sup etc. By the
way, source member has 15000 lines!!

Maybe you have enabled validate-as-you-type? The "hang' may be validations being performed on your 1000's line edit rather than the upper-case change.
Even with a slowish PC that should only be a one-cup-of-tea operation.. I have found these feature so resource-hungry that I always turn them off.
Then you can continue to edit like a mad man and use verify or the Lpex syntax-check command to validate on-demand.
