The SQL pre-compiler does indeed generate a temporary file for the RPG compiler to read.  On WDSc 7.0 the temporary file is opened up and the errors are inserted there.  Better than nothing as long as you don't try to correct the temporary file.  At least that's what it does for me at work--not that I'm enthralled about this approach.

It may be that this has something to do with the "Compile in Batch" option (Remote Sytems>iSeries>Command Execution). Checking this may cause the compile to be submitted as a separate job while unchecking causes the compile to run in the servicing job.  If submitted, maybe the temp file is lost.
