It's by far the most downloaded of the Distros and has an excellent 
support network, however CentOS and SLED are still big contenders. It 
depends on if you want a Debian derivative or not.  Really, other than 
administration differences and how the packages load/update, there is 
not much of a difference functionally between them.  I use both Ubuntu 
(on my EEPC) and CentOS on the servers here at Agile.  We use SLES on 
iDevCloud.  Other than some command differences and a bit of directory 
structure, not much difference to the user.
