There is a preference to limit the maximum records read, Max row count in Sql Result view Options. You can access this preference page directly from the Result view menu (the down pointing triangle).
If you put 0, it will read all records from the result.
However, I suggest you put a reasonable number (a few thousands) and use 0 only temporarily when you expect a large result so as to avoid reading millions of rows if you mistype a where clause.
