Just wondering why for things like Visualize Application, set
point etc... do we have to switch the properties to cblle from cbl to getis
this to work. I know IBM says we are not enhancing OPM etc... but what
the point of making someone switch it to cblle just to do something thennew
they switch right back to cbl once done. I am all for using ILE for a
program or when I need to add something to an old program(intrinsicguess
functions etc..). There are more issue that arise when just switching
COBOL(comparing to what I have heard about RPG) program to ILE without
testing activation group problems, continue/next sentence issues, other
programming issues I have encountered etc... I think that ILE with
intrinsic functions, binding other languages together etc... gives it
enough for people to move to it, just wish some of the ILE features like
visualize application, SEP etc would/could of been allowed in OPM. I
I felt like having a Tuesday rant :).

Hi Mark,
I assume that you are already familiar with the 'Visualize Application
Diagram' action on a COBOL member.

Hi Rick,
Thanks for finding the time to reply to this.
Do you know if there are any plans to make it available? I am going to be
embarking on a complete rewrite of one of our most complicated programs
any tools I can find to help me understand to current functionality wouldOn
be very helpful.
If anyone else knows of any Cobol tools that aid the
visualisation/navigation of massive Cobol programs I'd appreciate a heads
up.
Best regards,

Hi Mark,
When the enhancement was done for the COBOL Outline view in 8.5.1, it
was
done by refactoring some of the AIX COBOL tools to work for IBM i as
well.
Clearly there are some plugin dependencies that are bringing in this
view
as well. Currently this view is not usable for IBM i.

Hi,
I was exploring the new RDi 9 and found a view under COBOL called
Perform
Hierarchy but can't work out how to use it.
Has anyone used this function or knows how to use it?
