It will need a new license key.
The new news is that for PPA that license key can be obtained directly from
PPA and you don't have to go to the Rational License Center.
Nothing changed for ESS, that always had the license key available.

Will it require a new license key, or will the one from 9.0 still work?

9.1 is a new install. You will not be able to 'update' in Installation

Is this going to be a complete new install or an update to RDi 9.0? It's
sounding like it's going to be a new install. I like using the new free
format RPG, but have been a little discouraged because it seems that the
content assist in RDi 9.0 is a little buggy. I hope they fixed a lot of
these problems in the new version.

Not sure what Bruce referred to when he asked when RDI 9.1 will be
Available via "PPA" - but I'm not making much "progress..." getting a
connection with Installation Manager - has anyone been able to get the
9.1
update ?
