You are correct on both counts.

To see the documentation version, press Escape to get to the command
line, press ? and then Enter. The documentation opens. Navigate (left
side) to Reference > API Reference > LPEX API documentation > API
Reference. On the right side of the right pane is the LPEX version. My
9.1.1 install says LPEX 4.2.3

To see the LPEX version in use, go back to the command line, type 'query
version' without quotes and then Enter. My 9.1.1 install says LPEX
4.2.5.v20141103_2316.

My favourite part about the API reference (aside from it being available
at all!) is the disclaimer at the bottom: 'Note: This documentation is
for part of an interim API that is still under development and expected
to change significantly before reaching stability. It is being made
available at this early stage to solicit feedback from pioneering
adopters on the understanding that any code that uses this API will
almost certainly be broken (repeatedly) as the API evolves.'

I for one, appreciate that I'm getting an early(ish) crack at the API.
