Mark,

Buck's approach of creating a member filter works as long as he does not delete the default filter pool that is automatically created for a new connection.

iSphere retrieves the list of filter pools that are associated to the connection in order to find the default filter pool. If it cannot find the default filter pool, it shows the "The filter could not be created." error message.

For now it seems, that I could add a dialog to ask the user to which pool he wants to add the filter. The default filter pool could be selected by default.

Thomas.

Hi Thomas,

I am using version 2.5.2 of iSphere and RDi 9.1.1.

I think I might have found the reason why, thanks to the clues in Buck's email from yesterday.

I am accessing the search by using the search drop down menu and selecting IBMi and when the search window comes up I select the iSphere tab but in doing it this way I guess it doesn't know which connection to associate the filter with and therefore fails to create. If this is the case then would it be possible to change the create filter window to show the connection, defaulting it to the one it knows if it does, but allowing you to select one or even change it. This way it will work from the drop down menu and I can use it searching on one connection and adding the results into another (we are doing a large migration project at the moment).

By the way, when I get the filter could not be created error message no entries are added into the error log.

Best regards,
Mark

Mark,

a) What version of iSphere do you use?

b) What version of WDSCi/RDi do you use?

c) Please clear the Eclipse error log (if possible) or write down the timestamp of the latest log entry, then do the source file search and try to export the result to a member filter. Eventually check the error log for new entries and let me know about it.

Thomas.

Hi,

Has anyone successfully used the iSphere source search option to export the results to a member filter?

I have just tried and it asks to specify a filter and it doesn’t seem to matter what I put in there it comes back and says could not create filter.

Any ideas anyone?
