Hi Vern
The Hover/Hyperlink support only works with the live outline. So reverting
to the static outline will give you back all of the definition info, but
you will lose other functionality.
I was wondering why I hadn't heard anything about LIKE DEFINE, which is why
I didn't prioritize it.

Yeah, but I'm not sure I'd have leave to change the whole thing like
that - this is a bit of a monster and it's been around a long time!
I think I'll just turn off live outline for a bit and see if I get the
hover I want, as to showing attributes in tool tips.
I do really like Craig's tools - he has a couple that would handle this,
as I recall - he did say he hasn't updated for full free-form yet,
unless he got a 7.1 box now.
Would his tools be a candidate for a refresher article on free dev tools?
Cheers
Vern

Some small changes were required to accommodate the new RDi 9.5.
These were verified against an early release copy, but I still need to
verify against the GA version.
I'm doing that as we speak.
So the version you're running will not work with 9.5, and you'll need
withinstall the new TURNOVER version when it's ready.9.5!!
When you're ready, contact our technical support line for an update.

Ken, no longer a restriction when you use **FREE in RDi 9.5. Will
probably require a PTF to accompany it so the compiler can handle it

I think folks that don't like sequence numbers are specifically
shouldCPU*stored* sequence numbers. Personally, I consider them to be mostlycompiler
harmless, but completely useless. I have auto-renumbering on, and
listings have their own sequence number anyway.
When I say "mostly harmless", the very small harm I see is threefold:
(1) costs a small amount of storage, (2) costs a minuscule amount of
smallto do recalculation, (3) creates a slight amount of confusion (does aline
number refer to the stored sequence number or the compiler-assigned
sequence number?). I cannot stress enough that these are very, very
costs. But for me, there is zero benefit. Display of sequence numbers
should be handled dynamically by the editor, and error messages
Studiowithoutreport the ordinal line number accordingly. You can see in RPG IVcompiler
listings and dumps that IBM had precisely this in mind. And folks
programming in other languages on other platforms had been doing
stored line numbers (happily!) for decades prior to RPG IV.
