Using the web page editor for HTML editing, is the common place that I get the "Delete-Key" to stop working. Very Strange. The Web Page Editor is not part of RDI, just the eclipse add on. But, it beyond me to understand why would a keyboard key like "DELETE" would NOT always work??? OH well...

But, I have also had the delete key stop working in LPEX too. <Puzzled-Look>

I haven't run in the "skip character" error, but my other co-workers have ran into that error.

It is Not worth the effort to try to track this problem. So, restart works for me.

PS. Just wish I could find a reliable way to repeat the error, so I could open a PMR. So the IBM engineers could duplicate the error, and fix it...

I use RDi primarily for C/C++ development. These issues have nothing to do with RPG.

I have never seen the delete key or skipped character phenomenon.

Maybe the programmer switched jobs? One thing I've asked myself - and
this mightn't win me friends at IBM - is, do the IBM programmers use
RDi? There are a lot of niggles and bugs that anyone using the product
would bump into and surely would want fixed.

Tim, I don't believe the "skipped character" phenomenon is related to
RDi
in particular. I know of at least two other (Windows) applications
where that happens to me on a regular basis (and only ONE is Microsoft).

...hijacking my own thread..
Another annoyance I notice is the "skipped character". When I
position
the cursor before a character and then type it will skip over the
character I've positioned before and begin the typing after it. This
goes back to previous versions and I REALLY hoped it would have been fixed by now.

Yes! It has happen to me... <frown>

Oh well, cannot repeat the situation that causes it. So, I cannot
open a
PMR. Because I get the "unable to duplicate"...
Sadly, it makes me doubt the product. But, at the same time, to fix
issues at my work-place, I need to be able to duplicate the problem,
before I can fix it. So, it is understandable...
Pick your battles, just restart and continue on... <sigh>

PS. If you repeat the "condition" that causes it, please report it
to
IBM support!

Has anyone else had the situation where the delete key stops
working? I
can't track down but it has happened several times to me. If I close
down RDi it's back working again.
