Well, I'm sure it was mentioned that there was a new attempt to bring
scripting to Eclipse, called EASE (Eclipse Advanced Scripting

Last I heard it was in some kind of "incubation stage". My guess (not
being a member of the Eclipse community myself) is that it's still in
that stage.

there is technically a way to execute commands when a source
member is opened:
the Eclipse user profile. If one is comfortable writing a plug-in, one

Well, that doesn't look TOO scary. And I'll bet it's very robust and
reliable, if you do manage to get it working.
