@Buck - Nice one Buck I didn't know you could use set hex to insert text.
That would be a pretty convenient way for me to do what I require for any
attribute bytes!

Luckily I'm reasonably practised at dealing with character sets - writing
an encapsulation layer to shunt UTF-8 data around MQ and into an xml data
type on a message table while dealing with a DEV box using CCSID 37 and a
PROD box using CCSID 285 has kept me entertained...

I'll still see if I can get some plugin code working for my own education
and for times when I might want to insert horizontal lines etc a bit more
elegantly.

I set some up but found I was just using copy and paste I didn't have to
open the quick view ( where I keep snippets ) and you have to remember that
you need to enter spaces or whatever to have the carat positioned correctly
