I closed and re-opened Rdi and it was then available for
install. Weird.
Thanks again Thomas.

Bill,

Is it possible that you took the wrong update site or that it is a proxy
issue on your side?

I updated my RDi 9.5.1.2 just a few minutes ago from:

http://isphere.sourceforge.net/beta-version/eclipse/rdi8.0/

You may also consider to download the zip file. It is a zipped update
site and you can update your iSphere right from the zip.

The amazing part of the story is that you got a new bug.

Now that I switched to the Java toolbox classes "SequentialFile" and
"Record" I have to truncate the data by myself when the record length of

the target file is shorter than the record length of the source file.
Otherwise an "ExtendedIllegalArgumentException: Length is not valid" is
thrown.

I did not had to care about that with class "IQSYSMember" and the local
file resource.

I fixed that with v3.1.0.b009.

Thomas.

Brian,
That's it. He's (was) using iSphere.
I can't see where there is any option to change it.
Thanks! At least I know where it lives.

Just to clarify, your colleague is copying source members to
different
libraries/files on different servers - correct?
Is he using the standard COPY/PASTE function in RSE, or the COPY
MEMBERS
TO tool provided by the iSphere plug-in?
I have just run a little test. The standard COPY/PASTE does _not_
appear to affect the SRCDAT. However, iSphere _does_ change SRCDAT to
the current date. (There may be a Preference to change this behaviour,
I've not investigated further.)

I've searched both RPG and Midrange forums with no success. One of
our programmers using RDI has started saving his developed/changed

losing all the previous record change dates in the source. (SRCDAT).
Is there any known solution to this? I'd hate to have him go back
to using FTP but...
To clarify, the target copy seems to change the SRCDAT to today's
date when the copy happens because the original source is not
changed.
