It's not a question of SWMA. I'm talking about times where IBM said
the new version is new software, so you have to buy it even though
you had SWMA for the current version. It may well be a more common
in my memory than it was in reality, but "once bitten, twice shy".


My understanding is that if the product id remained the same then
you get new versions for free with a valid maintenance agreement. Only if
the product id changes do you have to pay for the product "again".
