Hi Booth,

Can you confirm that you are on 9.6.0.5? That sounds a lot like a defect that was corrected 9.6.0.5.

There are two occasions that attempt to reconnect on restore of RDi. The Live Parse model is attempting to connect to parse for the outline (new behavior in 9.6.0,.0), or the scratch pad attempting to restore the list of contents (existed in previous releases).

The work around others suggested is a good one. Mark the unavailable systems Offline by right clicking on the connection in the Remote Systems Explorer and select "Work Offline".

If you are on 9.6.0.5, please contact IBM and open a PMR so we can look into your situation to fix that behavior too.

Subject: [WDSCI-L] RDi can't connect, has a tantrum

Trying out V9.6.  Lots of changes, mostly I like.  However...

is there a setting to change?  This is getting irritating.

When RDi opens it checks every connection and starts round-robining error messages for connections-not-available as fast as I can click cancel.

So then once I get that calmed down I have to go click offline for each connection I am not using that session or it starts round-robining errors again.

This is not desirable behavior.  This looks like new RDi behavior, but it is more likely a setting I can't find that says "Do not check for connection until first need"?
