Sounds like a very large installation. Don't they have a network inventory tool that would help? Something like LanSweeper or similar?

Subject: [WDSCI-L] How to audit RDi 9.6 users

We're going through an audit and I, a new contractor at this company, have been asked to determine all the users that have RDi installed. I don't know what kind of license we have, although I'm told we have 70 of them. We have reason to believe that we are not using anywhere near that number.

FWIW, we download the following two files from our network drive to do the install:
RationalDeveloperForiV9.6TrialWebInstall-Windows.zip
com.ibm.rational.developer.ibmi.rpgcobol.v96.pek.jar

From there, we unzip the zip file and run the UserInstall.bat file. After installation, we "install" the activation kit (.jar file).

Unless there's some kind of black box magic during activation, I can't see how we can manage the number of RDi users.

Anyone know?
