I would say that Forta owns the IP for parts of RDI now and does the development for that.

Subject: Re: [WDSCI-L] [EXTERNAL] IBM Rational Developer for i 9.8.0.1 fixpack is now available!
Hi Eddie
I don't that anyone should try to kill Rdi. There's a place for both RDi and Code for i, which is also very cool.
Fortra now develops RDi - IBM do have others do the development at times, but the support is IBM. Another example is BRMS, they contract that out, as well, and support again is IBM.
Mike Hockings, who is at IBM and supports RDi, gave us the best approach in a post here today, I believe. Basically it is to use the Install New Software option.

Vern

I thought it was outsourced to Fortra also. The software is downloaded
from an IBM site and when I go for help, it's always through IBM, and I get
responses from an IBM team. IMHO, I think they're trying to kill off RDi in
favor of Code for I. Once I can get all the plugins I have on RDi, I'm
switching.

Does IBM still do development on RDi? I was thinking this was

I think Fortra ( previously named HelpSystems ) are the ones running the
development since some years back.
