I'm not sure what type of license it is. All I know is we install it on our laptop.

It probably depends on the type of license - if it's an authorized user license, you only need to connect using it on just one laptop at a time.
The license is, seems to me, on the server, not the PC.

I don't know how the floating licenses work, that might be different.
