Isn't it better to just make the object in the database a field reference link to the object in the IFS (cant remember the field type name)? That way it maintains the referential integrity of the IFS object as you are not supposed to be able to delete it, because a link field exists in the dB?

Then you are storing the object in the binary file system which also makes it faster to serve, rather than coming from a BLOB?

Thanks Bleddyn

Subject: 1 KB GIF takes 4 MB on DB2 ????????

Hi Everybody,
My one KB gif takes up 4MB on db2 where it is stored as a BLOB.
Can anybody explain why and how to avoid such overhead.

TIA
Kaush.
