I wish it was that simple

I need to go with an existing LMS(softswitch)  system that integrates UNIX,
NT, MAINFRAME & AS/400 messaging for Lotus Notes.

Reinventing the wheel for this large (60,000+) employee co. is not an option.

There are no SMTP entries in the directory.

Here is the layout......

Andrew,

No time like the present to get away from that proprietary format of
emailing.  There is still a relationship with that but you can use a real
email address instead of the userid/node format.

If you wanted, you could write the front end to accept the userid/node and
look up the internet address in the system file.  QUSRSYS/QATMSMTPA is where
these are stored if an SMTP address is set up (F19 from work with directory
entry)
